Proverbs 5:21-22 (KJV): “For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings. His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.”

COMMENTARY: The Biblical context of this passage is the man who chooses to commit adultery. However, there is a broader context that ties in with the entire book of Proverbs: Wisdom cries out to every soul, but many choose not to listen to her. Some are naive and go astray out of simplicity. Others are outright foolish and go astray out of a deliberate desire to do evil. Either way, people who do not seek and hearken to wisdom run the severe risk of self-destructing. The fruits of their choices will come back to haunt them. There is no decision or action that escapes the eyes of the Lord. Nothing, absolutely nothing, is secret to Him. He knows all, sees all and ponders all.

APPLICATION: Don’t self-destruct! God has given you the gift of eternal life. In the time that He allows you to remain on earth, He wants you to walk in wisdom. He wants you to live an abundant life full of blessing. Please don’t walk in naivete or foolishness. Seek wisdom continuously. Ponder your steps BEFORE you take them. Let the Word of God be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. Let the Holy Spirit give you knowledge, understanding, discernment and judgment to live an enormously fruitful life.

Remember, wisdom is ALWAYS crying out in the public square. The problem is never “message sent,” but “message received.” Tune into wisdom, and you will be blessed!

Joyfully yours,

Drew
